Notwithstanding the fact that the GLPK-Corvette (Kumpen-Longin-Hezemans-Mollekens) has quite clearly been pulling all the strings so far this season, they came off worst up against the SRT-model (Hart-Soulet-Duez-Cloet) and the Eurotech-Marcos (Goossens-Van Dongen-Euser).

During the last qualifying session Maxime Soulet managed to clinch pole by a mere 1/1000 sec. from Kumpen.

In spite of Duez’s perfect start Kumpen took over the lead after a couple of laps and built up a nice margin. The two intermediate sprints after respectively 6 and 12 hours were won by GLPK, however a damaged gearbox caused the latter to lose more than 50 minutes. A fair gap immediately developed which GLPK was unable to regain. This allowed SRT, racing at its own pace, to target victory. Eurotech, which normally cannot compete against the power of the Corvettes, was in this case able to climb up into second spot, retaining this position until the last meter. AD Sport, with the Wauters brothers, Schreurs and Vanierschot dropped out with gear linkage problems when lying in 4th spot.

In Class 2 quite a few teams encountered problems. Especially CEO Racing with their own car and the PSI model experienced clutch and gearbox problems. The only unhindered team was the BMW V8 of GS Motorsport, finishing 4th overall and winning Class 2 ahead of the BMW Silhouette of Van Bellingen-Essers-Coens-Vandermaesen and the Mosler of Kenis-Verheyen-Schuybroeck. The latter fought nail and tooth through to the last lap with the ProSpeed-Porsche of Penders-Lamot-Dujardyn-Jacobs. The latter was down on fuel and had the option of lifting off or going for a splash & dash. Penders took the first option and lost.

In Class 3 First Motorsport figure as the major winner. The Haane-Meert-Van Delm-Werckx quartet took the jackpot and due to the tough luck experienced by the Ultima are now the new leaders in Class 3. GS Motorsport and NGT Racing completed the podium in Class 3. Amongst the guest drivers the Bongou-Porsche 997 was the fastest ahead of the similar model of Pino ahead of the Dumarey family and Van de Wauwer and the JMT-BMW M3 of Notermans-Binet-Vercammen who drove a brilliant and exceedingly consistent race.
